Q. Do I need to use my own bike for the course?
A. No. We provide Buell® Blast® (500cc) motorcycles for the class.
Q. Do I need a motorcycle learner’s permit before I take the course?
A. No. You do not have to have any experience riding motorcycles.
The on-cycle portion of the class is done in a parking lot (painted range) You must have a valid driver’s license.
Q. What do I need to wear?
A. For the on-cycle portion of the course you need the following: A motorcycle helmet that meets DOT specifications
- Sturdy over the ankle footwear w/a low heel and rubber soles
- Protective eye-wear
- Full-fingered gloves (preferably leather)
- A long sleeved jacket or shirt
- Durable long pants (denim or other comparable material, non flare and without tears or holes)
Q. What if I fail the course?
A. Not to worry…you will have the chance to re-take the course at a discounted rate.
Q. Do I need to attend all 5 days of the course?
A. Yes. To successfully complete the course, you must attend all 5 days (approx 25 hrs).
Q. Once I complete the course successfully, how do I go about getting my motorcycle license?
A. Upon successful completion of the course, FL residents will be waived from the on-cycle licensing skill test at the Department of Motor Vehicles. You must go to your DMV, show them your completion card and take a written test. Once you complete the written test successfully, you will then receive your motorcycle endorsement.
Q. How far in advance do I need to register for a course?
A. As soon as you decide you want to take the course. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Classes are limited and fill quickly.
